Ready Steady Therapy is a mobile paediatric physiotherapy service that provides fun, engaging, and effective physiotherapy treatments to babies, children, and young people up to 18 years old.

Mobile NDIS Physio

Ready Steady Therapy is a mobile paediatric physiotherapy service. This means that our sessions can take place at your home, school, the local swimming pool or even your local park – wherever you and your child will feel the most comfortable.

We take a holistic approach and work closely with you, your child, and other care providers to create a customised program that is targeted to your child’s needs and goals. We create activities that improve childhood development, encourage skill acquisition, enable increased functional independence, and can be easily integrated into your daily routine.

We provide physiotherapy services to children who have NDIS funding. Rebates for our services are also available through private health insurance or a Medicare chronic disease management plan.

Services

We provide physio to children who have NDIS plans that are Plan Managed or Self Managed. We offer weekly, fortnightly or monthly physiotherapy sessions dependent on the need of the child.
If you have concerns regarding your baby or young child’s development, we offer assessment sessions to review your child’s progress. We then formulate a physio plan that you can then use to improve their gross motor skills.
Our Physiotherapists have extensive knowledge of specialist equipment such as standing frames, walking frames, sleep systems, seating, race runners and adapted tricycles. We can help with accessing and acquiring equipment for short term or permanent use.
We see kids who need support to develop their physical skills and coordination. Our team is skilled at activities designed to boost strength, agility, balance, and coordination. Give us a call to see if your child would benefit from a physiotherapy assessment.
Do you have concerns about your toddler or young child’s walking? We offer a comprehensive assessment of your child’s walking and formulate a plan to improve their walking through building up their strength, balance, flexibility and endurance.
Our Physiotherapist’s are trained to provide water-based physiotherapy activities. We provide aquatic physiotherapy sessions in local leisure centres and your own home (pool required). Find out more about our aquatic physiotherapy services and if it would benefit your child.
We often work with children with neurological conditions including Cerebral Palsy, acquired Brain Injuries, Down Syndrome, Spinal Cord Injuries, Duchene Muscular Dystrophy and other rare genetic disorders. We also give advice on how to improve gross motor skills for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and provide physiotherapy treatment as required.
We treat a wide range of common musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions for children and teenagers, and some not so common conditions too! Physiotherapy can be offered to children and adolescents who have had an injury or who have an MSK condition leading to pain and dysfunction. If your child or teenager is complaining of pain in their muscles or joints, it will benefit them to be reviewed by a child physiotherapist.

Frequently asked questions

We can do physio in almost any space. The most important thing when conducting physiotherapy in the home is that you clear an area for therapy. It doesn’t have to be big, though ideally there should be enough room for your child to lie down and roll over a few times.

We can always do follow up sessions at the park, your child’s school/pre-school or at a grandparent’s house if there really isn’t enough room.

Once your initial appointment has been booked you will receive a pre-appointment questionnaire. This helps us to attain more information regarding your child’s medical and developmental history, so that we can focus on assessing your child’s physical skills during their initial appointment.

Aside from completing your questionnaire, it is good to ensure you complete the following checklist before/during your appointment:

  • Have any relevant medical documents, or your child’s NDIS plan, ready for us to review at the appointment.
  • Write out a list of things you would like to discuss in the session, in case you forget or it doesn’t get covered.
  • Clear a space; it doesn’t have to be big, but having a space free of obstacles prevents any injuries.
  • Keep pets out of the therapy space. Even the friendliest of pets sometimes get worried about what’s happening in physio.

Ideally your child should be wearing loose, comfortable clothing – things that they can easily move in. Our therapists might sometimes require your child to wear minimal clothing in order for them to fully assess posture and movement.

If your child normally wears orthotics, please have these available at the appointment.

We provide physiotherapy in many Sydney suburbs. Our main service locations are based around St George, Greater Western Sydney, Eastern Suburbs and Inner West areas.

It’s best to check directly with us to find out if we provide physiotherapy in your local area.

Yes. Ready Steady Therapy is a mobile physiotherapy service, so there is a travel charge for all mobile physiotherapy services.

For NDIS clients, travel is charged at 15 minutes for our standard locations. If you live 20 minutes outside our main service area, a 20 or 30 minute travel charge will be added to the session. This will be discussed with you at your initial appointment. All travel for NDIS clients is charged in accordance with the NDIS price guide.

The cost of travel is built into the rates charged for private sessions.

At Ready Steady Therapy, we really love providing physio in a home or school setting because of the following main benefits:

  • The child is more comfortable at home, so we can get the best out of them in sessions.
  • We often use toys and equipment readily available at home, which allows parents to practise our physio activities after their session.
  • The child has all of their favourite things nearby.
  • The child can learn a task where they are most likely to be completing it, helping activities to be as functional as possible.
  • Physio is individualised to each child and is based on the needs of the family and their daily routines.
  • Parent’s are more relaxed. Driving around Sydney with children in the car is rarely fun!

No, you do not need a referral to see a Physiotherapist. You can book a pre-consultation call to see if physiotherapy is appropriate for your child and to make an appointment. We may sometimes advise you see your GP, dependent on the needs of your child.

Yes, as long as your private health plan includes physiotherapy as part of your extras cover, and you have not reached your rebate limit for the year. Please note that Ready Steady Therapy is unable to process private health rebates, so you will have to independently process the rebate with your private health provider. We will provide you with an invoice/remittance slip with your Physiotherapist’s provider number.

If your child has a disability, a chronic health condition, or complex care needs, there may be funding options available to help pay for or subsidise your child’s therapy sessions.

Medicare Rebates:

Chronic Disease Management

This plan is available for people who have a chronic health condition (one that has been, or is likely to be, present for six months or longer) or complex care needs.

Medicare rebates are available for up to five (5) eligible allied health sessions per calendar year (January 1st – December 31st). A referral from your GP, with Ready Steady Therapy as your nominated service provider, is required to utilise this rebate for your child’s physiotherapy session. Further information is available from the Medicare website, or by contacting your GP.

NDIS funding:

Children with developmental delay and disability may be eligible for funding for therapy, as well as many other supports, under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Ready Steady Therapy provides physiotherapy services to children whose NDIS plans are plan managed or self managed. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide services to children whose plans are NDIA managed.

We can also support families accessing the NDIS for the first time. Please contact us if you require an assessment and report to support your child’s application for NDIS eligibility and funding.
