Frequently asked questions
We offer children’s physiotherapy throughout Sydney, but our main service areas are around St George, Greater Western Sydney, the Eastern Suburbs and the Inner West. Feel free to get in touch to find out if we can provide services in your local area.
Yes! We can provide children’s physiotherapy in almost any space. The main thing is to clear a space where your child can lie down on the floor and roll over a few times. If there isn’t enough space in our first session, we can always change locations for our next session, e.g. grandparents’ houses, the local park, or school.
Once your first session has been booked, we’ll send through a quick questionnaire to help us learn more about your child’s medical and developmental history. This will give us a key focus while assessing your child’s skills in our first session.
In the meantime, we recommend preparing in the following ways:
- Have relevant medical documents and/or your child’s NDIS plan ready for us to review.
- Write a list of questions for our mobile physiotherapists in case it doesn’t get covered in our first session.
- Clear a space for the session. It doesn’t have to be big, just obstacle-free!
- Keep pets out of the space. Even friendly pets can get worried during a physio session.
- Dress your child in loose, comfortable clothing that they can easily move in. If your child wears orthotics, please have them available during your first session.
No, you do not need a referral to see our physiotherapists. Although, sometimes, we advise you to see your GP, depending on your child’s needs.
Yes. We include a travel fee in our private session rates as a mobile physio service.
For NDIS participants, travel fees are charged at 15 minutes for our standard locations. Outside of 15 minutes, a 20 or 30-minute travel fee will be added to the session. This is in accordance with the NDIS price guide.
Yes, as long as your insurance covers physiotherapy as part of your extras cover and you have not reached the rebate limit for the year.
Unfortunately, we cannot process private health insurance rebates on the go, so you will need to process the rebate directly with your insurance provider.
If your child has a disability, complex care requirements, or a chronic health condition, other funding options may be available to help cover your child’s sessions.
For example, Medicare provides Chronic Disease Management Plans for people with chronic health conditions and complex care requirements. Rebates are available for up to five eligible allied health sessions per calendar year.
Alternatively, children with developmental delays or disabilities may be eligible for funding for physiotherapy via the NDIS. We offer mobile physio to children with plan-managed or self-managed NDIS plans, but we do not cover NDA-managed NDIS plans.
Yes! We provide mobile physio services for babies, toddlers, children and teens up to 18 years old. Our physiotherapists have extensive experience working with babies and will use special techniques to help them reach their developmental goals.
Yes, we provide mobile rehabilitation services for children with sports injuries and growing pains. We can also help support the healing process for children who have experienced fractures.
During this 15-minute phone call, one of our senior physiotherapists will listen to your concerns and learn more about your child’s condition, so we can determine the best possible services to help your child meet their goals. We will also explain the next steps, including when and where your child’s first session will occur.
Afterwards, we’ll send you a quick questionnaire to complete, so we’ll know what to assess in our first session together.
